Spiral Engineering — Firmware Upgrade

Upgrade light firmware over the air (OTA) — one light at a time, or an entire firmware group at once (mesh upgrade).

Management privilege is required. See the Spiral Engineering overview for how to gain access.

Upgrade a single light

  1. Select Light Upgrade.
  2. The app shows firmware information and the number of lights grouped by firmware type. Select the arrow to expand a group.
  3. Select the upgrade button to the right of a light to upgrade its firmware.
  4. The app shows the progress of the firmware upgrade.
  5. The light reboots after the upgrade is complete, and the app reconnects to it.
  6. Verify that the firmware has been upgraded.

Mesh upgrade (all lights of a type at once)

  1. Select the mesh upgrade button next to a firmware type to upgrade all lights of that type simultaneously.
  2. The app begins the mesh upgrade and displays progress.
  3. The lights reboot after the mesh upgrade is complete, and the app reconnects. Verify that the firmware has been upgraded.
