Frequently Asked Questions

Which app do I need?

Most users want the standard Keilton+autani app (iOS or Android). Professional installers on iPad may prefer Keilton+autani Pro (adds Quick Commission), and engineers use Spiral Engineering (iOS) for firmware and parameter tuning. See Download the App.

Do I need internet or a gateway?

No gateway is required — devices form a local Bluetooth mesh. An internet connection is only needed to sync data to the cloud (so QR-code access can be shared) and for some cloud features. You can commission fully offline and sync later.

How many devices can a zone have?

Up to about 100 devices, ideally within a ~150 ft radius / under 9,000 sq ft, avoiding concrete or metal barriers. See System Capacity Limits and Planning & Sequences of Operations.

Why can't someone else access my zone after I share the QR code?

Zone data must be synced to the cloud first. If you commissioned with a poor/absent connection, run Force Sync (More page) once you have internet, then share. See Cautions & Safety.

What's the difference between a Group and a Scene?

A Group is a set of lights controlled together; a Scene is a saved preset of levels/colors you activate with one tap. Groups define what is controlled; scenes define how it looks.

How do I add a switch, sensor, or other device?

Use the Discover page (bottom navigation), then choose Switches, Area Sensors, or Devices from the top selector. See Navigating the App.

Why only one mobile device during commissioning?

Using multiple devices at once can cause data corruption or duplicate addresses. Commission with a single device. See Cautions & Safety.

How do I update device firmware?

Use the Spiral Engineering app (iOS) to check for and apply firmware updates over the air. See Spiral Engineering — Firmware Upgrade.

What is Quick Commission and who can use it?

Quick Commission rapidly commissions large numbers of photo-sensor fixtures using FlashNet (RP1 + FL30). It's available only in Keilton+autani Pro (iPad). See Quick Commission.

I lost access to my system — how do I get back in?

Re-scan the zone's QR code to restore access (Admin or User depending on the code). Keep QR codes saved and backed up. See Working with QR Codes.
